Customer case – Dak Americas Argentina

sfPORTEQ was approached by DAK Americas Argentina and Mr Alejandro Kissner/ Project Manager during 2019 about the possibilities to provide a spreader that is both lighter than they have today and with a higher lifting capacity. sfPORTEQ accepted this challenge and together with Mr Kissner and his team we found a very good solution in the end. sfPORTEQ spreader is an all-electric 20 feet fixed spreader with skew functionality of +/- 10 degrees.

“sfPORTEQ provided the perfect solution for us both with a very maintenance friendly spreader as well as an energy-saving spreader since it is all-electric.”

Increased lifting capacity

DAK Americas needed an increased lifting capacity to SWL 32 T and with a lower weight to 3.1 tons since with the existing spreader it had a weight of 4.1 Tons and therefore it was not possible to lift the heavier containers. The Crane had its limitations. It was, therefore, important to get a spreader with both lower weight and higher lifting capacity, sfPORTEQ provided the perfect solution for us both with a very maintenance friendly spreader, a cost-effective solution as well as an energy-saving spreader since it is all-electric.

Energy saving

sfPORTEQ, with the lower weight of the spreader we expect that the energy saving is as much as 21000Wh on yearly basis and a CO2 reduction of 8 Tons. This is based on an average of 2000 containers a month.
